Updates (Adam, where are your videos???)

0

Some of the info in the video is out of date. I’m just too lazy to record a new “update vlog” right now. Also, all of the “sidebar” info from the YouTube page is copied here below

I’ve been trying to upload this for weeks, but every prior attempt came through with NO SOUND WHATSOEVER for some reason, or just failed entirely. Same with every other video I tried uploading, for a while. I’ve fixed the sound issue by switching to a new codec, but…I swear, YouTube just doesn’t want me uploading videos. I don’t know why they decided to stop accepting the codec I’ve been using for almost a year.

Videos that are in the “I’ll upload them soon, I promise!” queue:

  1. More unedited concert clips from June 13th
  2. Another wrock montage, from the Parselmouths’ not-quite-CD-release-party
  3. Unedited clips from that concert (eventually)
  4. Northwest Gathering video (probably before #3)
  5. More Frost Park stuff (eventually)
  6. The rest of my Wil Wheaton stuff from ECCC (also eventually)
  7. A recut Tunguska Project trailer over on the TunguskaProject channel, as well as some other fun things related to the film.
  8. A re-upload of the “Tomorrow Is Another Today” music video (the first thing I uploaded to YouTube) in higher quality and without my old pre-roll logo, as well as brand new Sad Music For Happy Humans music videos.
  9. …and MORE! *cough*

Okay, so now to the links I promised in the video. If you don’t know what I was talking about when I mentioned the “Destiny of the Gnome” extended cut, here’s the five minute version and the real-life epilogue that plagued its completion:

The Tunguska Project has its own channel, and you can currently view a trailer there:
http://youtube.com/watch?v=xAJbWZ-Y-Pw

I call that trailer the Officially Unofficial Trailer, because it uses music we don’t have the rights to. Sad Music For Happy Humans has supplied me with some original music for it, which I’ll be substituting with the first “official” trailer as soon as I catch up with myself.

The video I *was* having problems with at the time, containing the last footage of my grandmother, Doris, when she was alive, is here:

I seem to have gotten it to work for me, and other people who couldn’t play it now can…but since it was varied before, I still don’t trust it. Please tell me if it loads or not for you (preferably in a message or in this video’s comments, rather than spam the comments of that video with “I can see it” or “I can’t see it” comments).

The TRANSIENT_ERROR issue is no longer a problem…after a bajillion reinstallations of the YouTube uploader and a couple nights I don’t remember anymore, it’s now working fine.

Oh, I also remembered my original points #4 and #5…

4) I PASSED 100 SUBSCRIBERS! I’ll thank all 111 of you properly when I have more time. I keep totally missing these landmarks…I didn’t even really realize I had more than 84 subscribers until I looked and realized the number was at 103. Thank you so much, everyone! Making videos is fun, but I find any kind of art/storytelling is more fun when its seen by other people.

5) Sad Music for Happy Humans is doing an interesting event. I’ll quote the website’s news release:

Sad Music for Happy Humans and local visual artist/filmmaker Vortex bring to Portland “The Human Canvas Project”, an experiment combining visuals, motion and sound. The show will feature a stage full of women painted white, with video projected onto them as they move with the unconventionally rhythmic sounds of of SMHH.

The evening will open with an ambient analog electronica set by Vortex Tulip, followed by the visual and auditory multimedia extravaganza that is The Human Canvas Project. For those who enjoy late nights, breakbeat/IDM dance music by TAN’T and live dubstep by DJ Harp and Ryze + Fall will keep the dancefloor moving for the remainder of the evening.

To get involved as part of the canvas, contact nevynnowhere @ gmail.com

Samples of all the musicians can be found as follows:

Vortex Tulip
Sad Music for Happy Humans
DJ Tan’t
DJ Ryze + Fall

I’m planning on being there, helping out and capturing video.
