Is it bad form to spend an entire video blog talking about my textual blog?

Well, if it is, I suppose it’s a good thing that I didn’t do that. Sure, I talk about this blog in my video today, but I spent a lot more time talking to or about a glass banana. See, it’s all about loopholes and technicalities.

Sundays are often lazy days. They have been for as long as I can remember. They’re days for relaxing, unwinding and getting in a good afternoon nap. There’s just something about Sundays – no matter the weather or other circumstances – that feels inherently lazy.

These days, my Sundays are often jam-packed. In addition to weekend activities including practice with the improv group I’m in, filming for various projects and grocery shopping, Sundays are workdays.

I’m the sound technician for a local church. This entails setting up microphones, monitors and other assorted sound-related equipment before the congregation arrives. Then I settle in and prepare myself to hear the same sermon three times more than the congregation does; the church has three different services, each with different sound needs. More often than I’d like, they surprise me with something last-minute without enough time between services to properly address it.

My complaints are light in heart, though – I’ve grown accustomed to dealing with whatever comes my way, and the people are absolutely wonderful. The sermons are also surprisingly good at holding the attention of an ADD-addled sound tech who grew up unable to pay attention to more than five whole sermons in his life.

Still, I think it’s easy to see how the whole situation feels a bit odd for someone who’s used to spending Saturday nights filming into the wee hours of Sunday. The crack of dawn used to signal my exhausted collapse into bed; now it greets me when I wake for work.

So combine my instinctive Sunday laziness with Sundays that are far from actually being lazy, and the notion of taking a one-day break from Blog/Vlog Every Day April becomes a tempting thought.

But, alas, my glass banana is good at ordering me to do things, and it insisted that I stick to my commitment to BEDA.

So now that I’ve written enough to constitute an entire blog post, I’m going to call it a day. Yesterday’s promise of reviewing my development as a chalk artist will have to be delayed – it’s taking me longer than I thought to gather together the pictures of my art.

Part of this is, I’ll grant, due to my LSS (Lazy Sunday Syndrome). That’s not the only problem, however – the photos of my artwork are scattered across the websites and flickr accounts of assorted different photographers. It’s hard enough remembering which dates I participated in the chalk-offs, let alone who was there to take the pictures.

I realized, begrudgingly, that I would run out of time to post today’s blog before I could complete my time-lapsed tale of artistic growth. Having completed part of the intended post, however, I can now say with certainty that I have a jump-start on tomorrow’s blog.

Unless, of course, I spend the whole blog talking about tomorrow’s video.

Would that be bad form?

Tune in tomorrow for the promised time-lapse blog of Adam’s development as a chalk artist.
