I hope you find cause to be thankful

At the close of Thanksgiving day, Adam describes his hopes for anyone reading.

Thanksgiving proper winds to a close, but the weekend continues. My big Thanksgiving comes tomorrow. Whether you celebrate or not, I hope your weekend is worth remembering fondly years from now.

I hope you’re safe and healthy, or will become so soon. I hope you find the opportunity to breathe. I hope you find an uplifting reason to face each day. I hope you don’t get to sucked into consumer chaos. I hope you don’t feel shamed if you find you have to. I hope someone tells you they care.

I hope you know you’re loved. Maybe not the way you want, or by whom you were hoping, but you are still the recipient of somebody’s love. Never underestimate the importance of that.

I hope you laugh. I hope you cry, if you need to. Don’t hold it in. I hope you conquer a personal obstacle. I hope you heal a wound, or mend a bridge. I hope something causes you to stop and appreciate something you take for granted. I hope you find beauty in an everyday experience. I hope you’re stunned by the photogenic majesty of your surroundings.

I hope you experience the magic of the world this weekend. And I hope you grow from it.

Even if today was just another Thursday.

Even if today was a symbol of a devastating history.

Even if your day was disappointing.

Even if it was worse than disappointing.

Even if you had to be around people who hurt you.

Even if 2017 has you down.

Even if life itself has you down.

I hope you can still find the magic. I hope you can still find hope.

If you can’t, I’ll share some of mine.

We’ll get through. Together.
