In 2010, I was commissioned by Mark Monlux to film a commercial and a series of movie reviews to promote his book, The Comic Critic Presents Seldom Seen Films.
The Commercial
The commercial, intended exclusively for an Internet-based audience, was scripted by the client. The script included much of the dialogue, but left parts open to improvisation. After going over the script, directorial and editorial control was left entirely to me, though the client provided the music (commissioned from a third party) and the artwork.
The Reviews
The reviews were filmed at the same time as the commercial, but released over time. They were completely improvised, shot in a single take, leaving it to me to clean them up and turn them into presentable videos.
