CHALLENGE: find something in your daily life, or in your local area, that seems beautiful, or even magical.
QUESTION: What is something wonderful in your life that you take for granted? What have you accepted as mundane that others would consider incredible?

Hello, Earthlings. You’re watching Adam the Alien, and spring has sprung! This is just glorious. This is magnificent.
Most of my life, I’ve been more of a winter person, but the older I get, the more I appreciate warmer weather. Especially at the end of a long, dismal Pacific Northwest winter. Which I used to enjoy a lot more, but…ah!
Maybe it’s that as I get older, feeling cold seems to be more of a thing. And maybe it has something to do with actually having to worry about clothes, and where they come from and how long they last. ‘Cause it is a lot easier to make clothes last when you don’t have to wear that much of it that much of the time.
Earlier in the week, I went to the Tulip Festival, and I said that I could spend all day around such beauty. And that’s true. But honeslty, I find myself constantly surrounded by beauty in some form or another, wherever I go. I really love to find the things to appreciate, if I can.
And I think that’s important. It’s easy to get lost in despair, especially in troubling political times. But just as it is important to fight for the betterment of the world and the betterment of one’s self, it is also important to relax, and take break, and take care of yourself…and, most importantly, appreciate the beauty around you, and appreciate what it is that you’re even fighting for. What you’re living for.
Even going beyond the beauty of the world around you, you can find beauty in other people. You can find beauty in youreslf. You can find beauty in weird little hobbies that no one will ever understand. There is beauty everywhere, and you can find it…sometimes in the strangest, most unexpected places.
But it’s important to look for it. Because it’s very easy to forget to stop and smell the roses. Or in the case of my previous video, the tulips. And even those are more obvious things, as opposed to sitting and appreciating the kind of golden-green glow of grass on a sunny day.
So that’s my challenge to you for today, and a question. The challenge is to take a moment to look around what’s in your life on a daily basis, or what’s in your local area, and find something beautiful to appreciate. Find something that feels magical.
And then my question (either after you do that, or if you already know of something): what is something wonderful in your life that you take for granted?
I know growing up in the country, sometimes I take for granted the sheer amount of beauty that there is. And it’s other people who get out into the country or out into the forest and go, “Wow! Wow, this exists?!? Wow!!!”
So let me know what makes you do that in your life. Or rather, what would make other people react that way in your life that you’ve just taken as a…as a norm.
That’s all for today! Until next time, I’m Adam the Alien. Fare thee well!
