Hello, Earthlings! I’m Adam the Alien, and this is Buster the dog. I’m actually in a hurry and running late, so: quick vlog with wet hair!
I just wanted to take a quick moment to say how amazing Vlog Every Day April has been, at least on my end of things. Even though I’ve been late a lot (in fact, I’ve gotten on a habit of being about a day behind, perpetually) — even in spite of that, I would say this has been a huge success.
I’ve gotten my output up again after years of long hiatuses. And most importantly, I feel GOOD about this, again, in a way I haven’t in a long time.
There have been a lot of factors, over the years, that have made what I do for fun a little less fun because it’s also what I do for work. And often, especially with haphazardly acquired equipment and software, it gets really, really irritating dealing with all of the errors and crashes, and sometimes I just don’t wanna do it anymore.
But the other day, after two days of dealing with crashes on the lip sync vlog, I was editing what was supposed to be just a quick video that–that would go up real quick and…I fell in love with it. And that became the “Nowhere”video.
And in doing that, I kind of fell in love with the process of editing, again. As much as I love making videos, I had kind of lost the love for editing, especially doing editing for other people.
But I found it, again! I feel creatively inspired, again! I’ve even rediscovered my love of doing minute little edits that no one will ever notice, but they make me feel better. And now I can take that re-found passion and fuel it into work for clients and for myself.
Every time I do some kind of challenge, artistically, I find myself gaining something I didn’t think I would gain. And this was that. Vlog Every Day April has reignited my passion in just editing!
Plus, I’m learning how to deal with newer equipment and software that I haven’t really worked with a lot, before. So suffice to say, I’m feeling jazzed, I’m feeling inspired, and I’m feeling like I have so many more ideas of videos that I can make.
And the month’s not even over, yet. Until tomorrow, I’m Adam the Alien. Fare thee well. [/spoiler]
